As I was shuffling I could not stop thinking about the current political climate. These two major arcana resonate exactly with what I am feeling, and what I believe will happen.

We are all feeling the energy of The Tower right now. It feels as if our sense of security, our country, our belief that what is right, is crumbling and we feel powerless. There is a victimhood associated with The Tower because it seems as if life is happening to us, and everything is out of control.

There is no other choice but to jump from the burning building. We must leave what was before, we leap into the unknown, but unlike The Fool, there is a sense of dread.

However, there is a blessing in The Tower. It is in our times of darkness where we find our true strength and resilience.

Think of all the times in our lives where we thought we hit rock bottom. Think of the heart breaks, the betrayals, the disappointments, the destruction of what we believed to be invincible. Those moments were vicious, we felt deeply, and we suffered. Then, think of how your life would have been if these things did not happen. We would not have grown, we would not have been aware of our own power, we would have not evolved.

The Tower also signifies sudden realizations. We now realize that we can not go back to the way we were before. We can not be complacent, we can not ignore what is happening around us, we can not do nothing. To me, The Tower is a call to arms.

We must gather ourselves, and prepare to fight. Our weapon is our voice, our love, and our compassion. Let us transmute fear and anger and allow it to fuel us.

I believe The Tower was necessary to wake us up. We took a giant leap back, so that we can realize how much work we still have to do.

The gift after The Tower is The Universe. This energy speaks to completion, cycles coming to a wonderful, balanced and ultimately destined conclusion. The hardships experienced make way for peace, clarity and celebration.

This is a victory earned. it is not a victory over your opponent, it is a victory for the light.

The Universe asks us to lead with grace. How can we fight for truth and justice without demonizing others? Without compromising ourselves?

The more we focus on the opposition, the more energy and attention we bring to them.

Instead of blaming those who we do not agree with, let’s focus on those who we align with. Instead of saying how terrible someone is, let’s echo how wonderful, how brave, how inspiring the other person is.

I am an optimist, I believe that good will prevail. It is not hope, it is undeniable knowing. Don’t stop fighting brothers, sisters, and non-binary family, there is a bright, warm light at the end of the tunnel.
